Keith Van Bockel, 68, formerly of Gettysburg, South Dakota, passed away on January 12, 2023 at home in Pierre, SD surrounded by family.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 19th, 2023, 12:30-1:30 PM at Pierre First United Methodist Church with Funeral Services beginning at 1:30PM Thursday, January 19th, 2023 with Beata Ferris officiating.

Keith was born in Gettysburg, South Dakota to Edward (Vernon) Van Bockel and Shirley Rae Ribble on June 17, 1954. He grew up on the family farm 9 miles west of Gettysburg and graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1972. He married Fran Cass in 1980 and to this union Justin, Blake, and Jessie Jo were born. Keith later married Faun Marshall in 1995 in Blunt, South Dakota. Following the wedding, Keith opened his home and his heart and adopted Faun's son, Dylan as his own. They later added to this union and his daughter Jenny Marie was born. He worked as an Applicator for CHS for (32 years as of 2021). He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the Navy from 1972 until 1982, when he was honorably discharged.
Keith is preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Shirley Van Bockel, infant son Paul Ryan Van Bockel, mother and father in law Bernie and Sylvia Marshall, sisters in-law Penny and Ann Marshall, son Shane Biddle, nephew Darren Weischedel, brother-in-law Cliff Weber, and many aunts and uncles.
Keith is survived by his loving wife Faun Van Bockel, children Justin and Tina Van Bockel, Blake Van Bockel, Jessie Jo Van Bockel (Jared McPherson), Dylan and Emily Van Bockel, and Jenny Van Bockel; grandchildren Lynzie Townsend, Skylar Townsend, Gabe and Raegan Ingle, Tanner Cruse Nathan Van Bockel, and Amara Ham. He is also survived by one sister, Patti Weber (Colgan Huber) and niece Becki (Aaron) and her daughter Tatum Erickson along with many great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Marlin Nipp, Justin Nieman, Tyson Forell, Chad Wrightson, Russell Daley, and Steve Pickard.
