To Carolyn and family, so sorry to learn of Keith's passing. I always enjoyed talking to Keith at Carolyn's North High School Class Reunions. He seemed lovingly supportive of all of the families' interests and activities. I am sure he will be greatly missed as he was loved.

Please accept my sincere sympathy, condolences and love at this most difficult time. My physical condition prohibits me from attending his memorial service, but my prayers are that our Heavenly Father will give you all the comfort, strength and love to sustain you.

May God's blessings and Grace be upon you all. Pastor Dick Faust

Keith and my dad, Vic, were lifelong friends. They played football together for the Bexley Blue Lions, became fraternity brothers at Ohio State, and went on to very successful careers in Columbus, Keith in medicine and Dad in insurance. They both chose strong, smart and compassionate women as their wives and enjoyed long, happy marriages. They both raised loving families in Upper Arlington, and they even bought a cottage together on Snow Lake in Indiana where their families spent many happy summer days and nights, often together.

Keith was also a great friend and role model for me, often allowing me as a boy to fly with him in his plane and even helping to treat my hay fever in the late summer when football practice began in earnest. That made for some interesting looks from his usual patients, all of whom were great with child, when I, as a solitary teenage male, sat quietly in his waiting room to get my monthly shot.... In any case, Keith was a fantastic dad, a wonderful friend to our family, and a highly respected doctor and teacher. We will miss him.

Keith moved off this mortal coil nearly two years to the day after my dad passed. Here's hoping that the two of them have figured out a way to get back together and are enjoying a gin & tonic or two as they watch over the rest of us below.

The thoughts and prayers of the entire Woods family are with Carolyn and the rest of the DeVoe clan as they celebrate the life and passing of this true giant. God bless.

Mrs DeVoe and family, what wonderful memories Mom and Dad ( Bob and Caroline Wright) shared with us about fun times with you and Dr. DeVoe. A very kind man. I know you will miss him dearly. I am grateful I was able to see him a couple of times recently. Take care of each other.

I was sorry to read of the passing of Dr. DeVoe. My condolences to his family and friends.

We only met once, some sixty-three years ago (at some sort of sports car rally, as I recall). And it had been rather awkward. At the time, we were rivals for the attention of the same young woman, the beautiful Miss Carolyn Nitschke.

Keith had the advantage of me. While he had begun dating Miss Nitschke in college, I had only known her since my first day in kindergarten at Oakland Park Elementary when she introduced herself as our/my teacher.

All these years later, I can still recall the shock and confusion when my classmates and I were informed that we were to no longer address our teacher as Miss Nitschke, but as Mrs. DeVoe. She had chosen Keith over me. But I am sure I wasn't the only-five-year-old boy in the class whose heart was broken.

When I moved on to first grade (and Mrs. Stantz), I lost track of my kindergarten teacher. But I never forgot her. I hope she is well and has had a good life.
