Keith Lewis Elvis

Keith Lewis Elvis, 61, of Rockingham passed away unexpectantly on Thursday March 19, 2026. He was born on December 2, 1964 in Hamlet to the late Mitchell Odell Elvis, Sr. and Betty Sue Vinson Elvis.

Keith worked as a carpenter for Southern Builders for over 20 years. He learned to master his carpentry skills from L. C. Hayes who he thought of as a second father. Much of the restorative work in the Rockingham Historic District can be attributed to his skills. He loved working, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Keith had a great sense of humor, often joking with family and friends. He was a member of Outreach for Jesus.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 39 years, Candi Cummins Elvis; his daughter “Babygirl” Megan Johnson (Josh) and son “Babyboy” Hunter Keith Elvis (Brook); grandchildren: Dallas Johnson, Dalton Johnson, Mason Elvis, Myles Elvis, Malachi Elvis and Madelyn Elvis; siblings: Cythia James, Mitchell Odell Elvis, Jr., and Jason Lloyd Elvis. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Kerry Lewis Elvis and his K9 companion Buddy.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday March 23, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Outreach for Jesus. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday March 24, 2026 at the church with Pastor Marvin Taylor officiating. Entombment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park mausoleum.
