Keith F. Friday, age 78, died peacefully on December 22, 2025, at Keystone Place, Torrington Connecticut. Born June 30, 1947, in Torrington, Connecticut, he was the youngest of eight children born to the late Anita (Bolcher) and Howard Friday Sr.
Keith was married to Dolores (Frasca) Friday, for 57 years. Their story began in high school, where they attended prom together as friends but later grew into a lifelong partnership built on devotion, laughter, and love.
Keith is survived by his wife, Dolores, and his three daughters: Kimberly Riggs of Torrington, Connecticut, Julie Friday of Burlington, Connecticut, and Jenny Grustas and her husband Richard of Burlington, Connecticut. His greatest joy in life was being “Papi” to his five grandchildren, Katelyn and Colin Riggs, Luke Reeder, and Jillian and Gavin Grustas, who brought him endless pride and happiness.
He is also survived by his sister, Alice Canfield and many nieces and nephews. Keith was predeceased by his brothers Donald, Howard, James and Richard, and his sisters Betty O’Connor and Eunice Killian.
Keith spent 42 years as a dedicated employee at the Torrington Company, as a planner and forecaster. Outside of work, he enjoyed many pleasures such as walking, time at the beach, and listening to the radio on his Walkman. A die-hard Yankees fan, he loyally followed the team each season, whether they were winning or losing. He had a genuine fascination with the weather and seemed to have a natural ability to predict when a storm was coming. The family often relied on Keith to explain the forecast or help map out the best route before a trip. After retiring, he and Dolores spent their winter months at Hilton Head with friends, and for many summers the family made treasured memories vacationing together in Narragansett.
Keith will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady presence, and the deep love he had for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of loyalty, kindness, and devotion that will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to thank the staff in the Memory Care unit at Keystone Place and the hospice nurses for their professional and compassionate care. Also, special thank you to Sherrie and Shelia from Northwest Home Assistance.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church (Our Lady of Hope Parish), 78 Litchfield Rd., Harwinton, CT 06791. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. There are no calling hours. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, 76 Walnut St., Torrington, CT 06790
In lieu of gifts, the family would like all donations to go towards the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut chapter.
