Keith Gummeringer, age 50, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at his home. Born on November 4, 1973, in New Rockford, North Dakota, to loving parents Jeff Dean Gummeringer and Deborah Kay (Ulness) Gummeringer. He was married to Shelley Sorum in 2000 at First Lutheran Church in Fargo, North Dakota.
Keith was a hardworking individual, dedicating more than 35 years to his career in tree service. Keith worked at Wright Tree Service in Fargo for numerous years before opening Midwest Tree & Maintenance in Pelican Rapids in 2005. In recent years, Keith expanded his business to include Midwest Mosquito. He had a passion for the outdoors, often spending time on the lake, cooking, grilling for his loved ones, and spending time with his granddaughter, Malana. Keith had a kind soul and always went out of his way to support his family, friends, and community.
He was a former volunteer at the Horace Fire Department, former member of Pelican Rapids Jaycees, and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his daughters: Kazra Kae Allen and Autumn Raine Gummeringer; granddaughter Malana Sariyah Payne; parents: Jeff (Karen) Gummeringer, Deborah Vogel, and stepdad Paul Vogel; brothers: Shawn (Estee) Gummeringer and Cory Gummeringer; nephew: Zachariah Gummeringer; and numerous aunts and uncles. Keith's warm spirit and love for his family and friends will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Keith is preceded in death by grandparents: Leo and Bertha Gummeringer and Curtis and Viola Ulness; and granddaughter: Aaliyah Angel Payne.
There will be a gathering held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 5:00-6:30 pm, followed by a prayer service at 6:30 pm. Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the same location, with Pastor Eric Schwirian and Allen Westby officiating. A gathering will also be held one hour prior to the celebration of life.
