Keith Wade Heckathorn, 54, Macy, passed away at 12:15 p.m. on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
Born July 17, 1970, in Peru, Indiana, he was the son of Phillip Arthur, Sr. and Shirley Marie (Morris) Heckathorn. On May 15, 2015, he was married to Janita Lynne (Floyd) Burkhardt, and she survives.
Keith was a truck driver and cowboy. His life revolved around horses and he could spend every moment of every day with them. He loved training horses and helping 4-H youth with their animals. He lived his life his way, and he enjoyed every moment of it! He truly had a heart of gold and was not only a great husband and brother, but he was also a great friend to everyone!
Survivors include his wife, Janita Heckathorn, Macy; siblings, Dean (Pam) Heckathorn, Akron; Joe Heckathorn, Macy; three step-children, Nick Burkhardt, North Carolina; Ashley Hayes, Logansport; and Allison Burkhardt, Noblesville; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Phillip Heckathorn, Jr.; and step-granddaughter, Kiera Burkhardt.
Visitation will be from 1-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Denver Saddle Club.
