Keith Donald Johnson

St. Anthony - of St. Anthony unexpectedly passed away on Monday, September 29 at the tender age of 71. Born on July 18, 1954 and raised in Golden Valley, Keith graduated from Benilde in 1972, and then earned a Political Science Degree from Marquette University with Phi Beta Kappa honors in 1976. He returned home to pursue his professional passion, where he attended the University of Minnesota Law School and proudly earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1979. After starting his legal career at Ted Melby's law firm in Montgomery, Keith became a partner with friends and colleagues in 1983, establishing the firm "Wold, Jacobs & Johnson" in downtown Minneapolis. In 2000, Keith became a solo practitioner, handling hundreds of cases with unwavering integrity and professionalism. After a career of nearly 45 years, Keith retired last spring but would happily assist his clients, even up until the morning of his passing. An avid sports fan, Keith was a loyal season ticket holder for the Twins, Timberwolves, and Gophers. He shared them with family and friends, which made thousands of unforgettable memories (for better or worse). Keith loved to travel, but his favorite spot was his family cabin on Mille Lacs, where he enjoyed golfing at Fiddlestix, playing horseshoes on the beach, taking numerous "dips" in the lake, and soaking in every gorgeous sunset. But most importantly, Keith loved his family and friends with all his heart, and forever will be our cherished husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Keith is survived by his loving wife Julie (his everything for 37 years), his children Brian (wife Kristina), Benjamin, and Marraine (partner Jay), and brothers Stephen, Lonnie, Douglas, Peter, and nieces and nephews. Keith is also preceded in death by his parents Dennis and Dorraine, and his siblings Thomas and Julie Ann. There is comfort in knowing they are together again. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
