Keith Leon Koontz

Keith Leon Koontz, 87, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away on March 10, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Keith was born on January 8, 1939 in Bloomington to Clyde and Edna Koontz. Keith married Betty (Rogers) Koontz, the love of his life, on June 18, 1965 at the Greene County Chapel. Keith and Betty made their home in Bloomington for most of their life with a detour to California to be close to their grandchildren.

Keith graduated from Bloomington High School in 1957. Keith went on to work the family farm for his mother, and served his country in the U.S Army. In addition, Keith owned a service station in the 1970's and went on to be a Machinist at Otis Elevator for over 25 years. Keith enjoyed fishing and camping and traveling with family.

Keith is survived by Betty, his spouse. In addition, Keith is survived by his daughter, Lisa Koontz, his son, Kevin Koontz, and grandchildren, Cameron Shellnut, Annie Koontz, and Brayden Koontz. Keith is also survived by his Mother-in-Law, Dorothy Rogers, and several nieces and nephews.

Keith was the tenth born in a family of 13 children. Keith has two surviving sisters, Karen Waldon and Bonnie Snow, who were at his side throughout his latest illness.

A funeral service for Keith will be held at Allen Funeral Home in Bloomington on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the start of the service.
