Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Homes & Crematory - HammondJohn Wesley "Keith" Lott, age 65, peacefully left this earthly world behind on Monday, February 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, friends, music and laughter at North Oaks Medical Center, in Hammond, LA. He was born on November 24, 1960, in Bogalusa, Louisiana to the late Billy and Sally Lott.
Keith was a 1978 graduate of the American Academy. He was active in the Louisiana National Guard for 9 years before working as an Heavy Equipment Operator for DOTD. Keith was also a Deacon at Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and enjoyed spreading the Gospel to anyone who would listen. His passion was camping, fishing and being out on the water, especially a lazy river. Keith was famous for cooking in his cast irons every Sunday, which will be a deeply missed tradition. He would cook anything Mrs. Cheryl wanted, and it was always delicious. Keith never met a stranger and made friends everywhere he went, whether it was at a grandkids basketball game, at the campground, or at Carters, he just loved to talk. He was most proud of being Dad and Papa to his children and grandchildren. Keith was a character to say the least, always cutting up with friends and family, making people laugh from his silly antics, his legacy will live on in the memories made throughout the years.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 40 years, Cheryl LeBouef Lott; loving children, Jared Keith Lott (Jaclyn Keith Lott), Kayla Elaine Lott, McKenna Sally Mason (Josh), Lexi Guidry, and Jean LaBarre; precious grandchildren, Rori, Waylon, Kendall, Presleigh, Amelia Maxine, Wes; granddog, Remus; his siblings, Karisan Lott, Delaine Thomas (Randy), and Bennett Baker (Linda); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Billy and Sally Lott.
Family and friends are invited to attend Keith's Celebration of Life Service at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Albany, Louisiana on Friday, February 13th, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m.. Bro. Mike Burns will be officiating the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the funeral home to assist with arrangements.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Homes.
