Danny Dean Prevost, Sr. was born February 27, 1951, in Independence, to the late Don and Anita “Ellen” Shelton Prevost. He passed away February 6, 2026, at his residence in Springfield. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Danny is survived by his children, Amy Lynn Prevost, Danny Dean “Bull” Prevost, Jr. (Keeli), Irving Wayne Prevost, and Bradley Paul “Bubba” Prevost (Sha); stepdaughter, Daina Joiner; siblings, Gaylan Prevost (Debbie), Brenda Lipscomb (Robbie), Gary Prevost (Olivia), Jess “Cotton” Prevost (Eliska), and Leon Prevost (Wendy); grandchildren, Jared Schiffman, Dylan Schiffman, Lauren Pinion, Justin Prevost, Cole Prevost; and five great grandchildren. Danny is also survived by his best friend, Ronnie Dale “R.D.” Miller. Danny is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Prevost; sister, Penny O’Neill; granddaughter, Shelby Schiffman. Visitation will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 North Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Prevost Cemetery, 47197 Prevost Lane, Hammond.
