Christopher Edward Theriot, 48, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, February 6th, 2026. Chris was born in McComb, Mississippi, the son of Marion “Edd” Edward Theriot and Donna Rea Theriot.
He graduated from Hammond High School, then went on to earn a machinist technical degree from Gary Job Corps Center in San Marcos, Texas. Chris married his wife Mariah, on June 16th, 2017, in Amite City, Louisiana. They were together for 17 years, and their family included his daughters, Alison Marie Pratt and Hazen Edward Theriot and their son, Benjamin Edward Theriot. Over the years Chris worked in many different fields. Some of the jobs he felt most passionate about were his many years spent as a manager and film projectionist for O’Neil Theatres, a produce and dairy department leader for Target, and most recently a manager for PetSmart. Chris also had many hobbies, including playing World of Warcraft, Dungeons & amp; Dragons, Magic the Gathering, and collecting cards, Transformers, G.I. Joes, and Funko Pop figures. He loved watching movies, particularly ones with fantasy elements or superheroes, hosting parties for his close friends, and opportunities to cosplay as some of his favorite characters. Chris had a magnetic personality, connecting with strangers easily, and remaining close friends with so many despite years and physical distance between them.
Remaining to cherish his memories are his wife, Mariah; children, Alison, Hazen, and Benjamin; grandchildren, Julianna Pratt and Jayden Pratt; sister, Heather Theriot; and his niece, Nic Theriot. Preceding Chris in death are his parents, Marion “Edd” Edward Theriot and Donna Rea Theriot. A celebration of life will be held privately by Chris’ family.
