Keith Stevens, affectionately known as "Stretch", was born on June 29, 1979 at St. John's Hospital in Far Rockaway, New York. He departed this life on June 13, 2025 at MUSC Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina surrounded by his loving family.
Keith lived a vibrant and full life defined by love, community, and purpose. He had a deep devotion to his family and friends, and a larger than life personality that lit up every room that he entered; whether he was hosting a gathering, cheering for the Lakers and the Gaints, or planning his next travel adventure, Keith embraced life with joy and energy.
Keith was an active and proud member of his community and was known for always giving back. He regularly sponsored youth events, fun days, community cookouts, and back-to-school drives with the intention of uplifting and inspiring others. His generosity and presence left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Keith was also a passionate entrepreneur and business owner with ventures spanning across several states. He brought the same dedication and creativity to his business as he did to every other part of his life. In his quieter moments, Keith enjoyed playing video games with his uncle Vernon and his little brother Wes, whenever possible.
Keith was preceded in death by his father, Keith A. Rice; grandfathers, Darnell Stevens and Brazil Rice; and one uncle, Robert James Edwards.
Keith is survived by his mother, Marianne Stevens Wilson (William Wilson); his beloved wife, Shiquita Smith-Stevens; sisters, Shalana Blades, Chevonne Wright, and Nadia Rice; sons, Keith Stevens, Kei' Majhe Stevens, and Royal Samuel; loving daughters, Lakenya Martin-Stevens, Shalana Stevens, and Kei'Mani Stevens; two adored grandchildren, Brooklynn Smith and Ky'Aire Glisson; daughter raised like a child, Keyonna Martin and grand-daughter raised like family, Rylee Vance.
Keith will also be deeply missed by his grandmothers; Jessie Mae Stevens and Brenda Rice; aunts, Rose Kelley (Marvin), Diane Stevens, Sherry Cullen, Audrey Moore-Robinson (George), Chandrika Wilkins (Carry), and Joyce Herbin (Joe); uncles, Curtis (Brenda) Stevens, Vernon Rice, and Lestat Dicaprio; as well as a host of special cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Keith's legacy of love, adventure, and dedication will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be remembered for his generosity, infectious smile, and the countless lives he touched.
Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Anderson, SC.
The family is at the home.
