Keith Thompson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Eaton Funeral Home & Cremation Center - Main Chapel on Dec. 27, 2024.
Keith Brian Thompson, 69, of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away on November 28, 2024 after a long battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma.
Keith was born on December 27, 1954 in Saint Louis, Missouri. He graduated from Saint Clair Senior High School in 1973. After high school, he went to work at Chrysler Assembly Plant in the paint department. Eventually, Keith found his career with Ameren UE at the Labadie Powerplant. He spent much of his time there as a skilled machinist before moving on to the coal gang crew. Keith retired after 32 years of dedicated employment.
Keith married Ruth Ann "Annie" Krygiel in 1979 and was blessed with two daughters. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, often spending his time cutting wood, burning brush, and using equipment to tidy up the farm. He took pride in showing visitors his new trails and clearings. You could usually find him relaxing in his favorite spots, whether on the veranda or in the garage. Keith loved attending auctions and exploring places for sale, even if he didn't plan to make a purchase. He also enjoyed the drives without a specific destination, particularly backroading during the first snowfall with Annie. He created cherished memories of boating and long roadtrips with his family. Determined to provide for them, Keith was committed to giving his family the life he believed they deserved. His family was everything to him, and he was immensely proud of his daughters and grandkids, especially their academic achievements. He made sure they learned how to count coins, identify valuable ones, and navigate using an atlas map.
Keith is survived by his wife, Annie; his daughters, Lori Herbst and husband Andy, and Leann Weirich and husband Travis; his grandchildren, Gentry and Garren Weirich; his sister, Karen Woodcock and husband Phillip; his in-laws, Pauline Payne, John Krygiel and Paula, Theresa and Bob Hulsey, and Tom and Michelle Krygiel; and many nieces and nephews.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Forest and Loretta Thompson; his parents-in-law, Joe and Nell Krygiel; and his in-laws, David and Joan Krygiel, Mary and Bob Blankenship, and Herman Payne.
Private services will be planned at a later date.
