Donna Deaton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Eaton Funeral Home & Cremation Center - Main Chapel on Mar. 9, 2026.
Donna Fay Deaton, 76, of Sullivan, MO passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, in Sullivan, Missouri. Born on September 8, 1949, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Walter and Marie (Jost) Bailey, Donna spent her formative years in Gerald, Missouri, where she attended local schools and graduated from Owensville High School.

Donna married the love of her life, Bluitt "Sonny" Deaton, on July 3, 1970. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and devotion, sharing 41 years of marriage until Sonny's passing in 2012. Donna's nurturing spirit extended beyond her home as she dedicated her professional life to serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Marymount Manor in Eureka, Missouri. Her compassionate care and commitment left a mark on the lives of those she tended to.

A woman of faith, Donna was a Christian and an active member of the House of Hope church in Sullivan, Missouri. Her love for the Lord was evident in the way she lived her life, always striving to embody the principles of kindness and charity that are at the heart of her beliefs. Donna's creative spirit shone brightly through her crochet and sewing, hobbies in which she excelled. Her handmade gifts were not just pieces of art but tokens of her love, cherished by family and friends who were fortunate enough to receive them.

Donna's presence was a source of comfort and joy to all who knew her. Her friendly smile was a beacon of light that could brighten even the darkest of days. She will be remembered for her selfless nature, her unwavering faith, and her ability to make everyone around her feel loved and valued.

Donna is survived by her sister, Carol Gossett of Sullivan, MO; her brother, Dennis Bailey and wife, Sandy of Union, MO; a sister-in-law, Margaret Hamilton; nieces and nephews: Tammy King and husband, Dan of Sullivan, MO Sheila Robertson of Mechanicsville, VA, Michael Parker, Charles Parker and wife, Aylene, and Pamela Grivett all of Washinton, MO; and great nephew and niece, Caleb King and Tiffany Isgriggs and husband, Matt all of Sullivan, MO; and numerous other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bluitt Deaton; her parents, Walter and Marie Bailey; and a brother, Larry Bailey.

Graveside Services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, March 20, 2026 at the Anaconda Cemetery, rural St. Clair with Pastor Carl Duff officiating. Cremation has taken place.
