Kelli Hansen Obituary

Published by Heritage Oaks Memorial Chapel Funeral & Cremation Services on Mar. 1, 2019.
Kelli Ann Calderwood Hansen went to be with God on March 1, 2019 after courageously battling breast cancer for nearly 3 ½ years. She was 44 years old. Kelli was born on December 20, 1974 in Ogden, Utah. At the age of 13, she moved to California where she attended Mesa Verde High School. She later graduated summa cum laude from California State University, Sacramento earning degrees in English and Photography. In June of 2000, Kelli married her best friend and soul mate, Eric Hansen. Their love of photography inspired them to establish Hansens' Photography in which Kelli was the primary creative force for nearly 20 years. She received countless awards both locally and nationally including Photographer of the Year (Bronze) from Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Her work was published in national professional trade magazines and displayed in the PPA Loan Collection. Kelli had a true entrepreneurial spirit. She co-owned and managed "Almost Perfect Used Books" in Elk Grove for over 18 years. She also created "The World's Most Fascinating Rock Collection," a comprehensive geology course for children. In March of 2018, she fulfilled a lifelong dream of publishing children's books which she both authored and illustrated. One of her books continues to be a best seller on Amazon and is the professional achievement she was most proud of. Kelli's most meaningful and important life's work was her family and the loving environment of home which she created each day of her life. Her devotion to her loved ones inspired all who knew her. She leaves behind her daughter Merit, son Cannon, and husband Eric. She is also survived by her parents Vickie Pinney, and Alan (Marlene) Calderwood; her siblings, Shanon (Alan) Kendall, Kristy (Ryan Hustek) Calderwood, and Aaron (Jill) Calderwood; her nieces and nephews, Alyx (John) Morrill, Kaytee, Noah, Olivia, Ella, Andelyn, Ryker, Zander, Henry and Belle; grandnieces Jane and Claire. Her funeral will be held at Centerpoint Community Church, 515 Sunrise Ave. Roseville, CA 95661 at 2pm on March 15, 2019. She was a rare and amazing soul. All who knew her were blessed. She will be deeply missed until we see her again.

Kelli & Eric took Mother's Day pictures of me & my 2 sons. It is a beautiful portrait done in 2010. My husband had passed away 10/09. I am so happy to have that portrait with my 2 sons as I lost my oldest son (40) to cancer 7/29/17. My sincere condolences to Kelli's husband, children, family & friends. God rest her soul.
