Kelly Jo Barth Hutchison, a beloved mom, grandma and sister, passed away on February 3, 2024, at her home in North Webster. She was born on May 20, 1969, in Goshen to William and Bethel Lee (Howard) Barth. She spent her formative years in Milford and attended school there.
Kelly Jo was a bit of a free spirit and self-proclaimed hippie who embraced life with an infectious zest. One of the passions closest to her heart was music. She had an eclectic taste and enjoyed not only the music of the 60s and 70s but enjoyed going to concerts of a wide variety of today's artists also. She was also a huge fan of Green Bay Packers football and a collector of anything with elephants.
Being an old soul herself, she deeply cherished her family, especially time spent with her children and grandchildren. She was married to the love of her life, Stan Hutchison on April 2, 2002 in Gatlinburg. The Great Smoky Mountains was a fitting place to be wed as they both shared a love for the Tennessee highlands and the Mountains. Kelly Jo’s life was forever changed when Stan passed away on January 3, 2019.
In addition to her parents, Kelly Jo is preceded in passing by three siblings: Theresa Barth, Bill Barth, and Cathy Vanlaningham. Kelly Jo's memory will forever be treasured by those closest to her heart. She leaves behind five children: Michael Vanlaningham of Plymouth, John Leer of Warsaw, Robert Leer (fiancee, Mackenzie) of Syracuse, Cody Leer (wife, Tiffany) of Syracuse, and Chelsea Leer of Fort Wayne. Her four grandchildren: Chelsea Renne, Addilynn, Asher, and Maddox brought immense joy to Kelly Jo's life.
The bond between Kelly Jo and her siblings was unparalleled; three of them survive: Nancy Levernier (husband, Tom) of Milford, Barb Barth of Ligonier, and Laurie Estep (husband, Scott) of Syracuse shared a special connection with Kelly Jo that will continue in spite of her passing.
