Dr. Kelly McCants was truly one of a kind. My heartfelt condolences to his family, his co-workers, his patients, the community and all who had the privilege of being in his presence. Dr. McCants was not only an expert in Advanced Heart Failure but he was kind, compassionate, down to earth, a teacher and an advocate. I will forever remember the personal deposits he invested in my undergraduate and graduate nursing career. Most importantly I will always remember the care he provided to my father who passed from Amyloidosis in yr 2013. My father thought Dr. McCants was so cool and loved his cowboy boots. Dr. McCants will be deeply missed.

Saved my life in 2021 and I was there 3 LVAD receipeant at Nortons. I will never forget him always putting his hand on my neck and saying how you fill and I would say great. The most caring doctor I ever met and I will never forget what he did to prolong my life with my wife and family. He put together a fabulous Heart Failure Program and his staff I´m sure will miss him greatly. The Cox´s

I'm deeply saddened to hear that he has left us so soon. I had the pleasure of working with him at Piedmont and NGHS he was a truly a joy to work work with. The world has lost a beautiful mind and a gentle giant my prayers are for his family and friends as they grieve and celebrate him in every way they can.

Kelly was a favorite in our house, or Uncle Kelly as the kids referred to him. We are heartbroken! An angel on earth that touched so many lives. I was blessed to work with him at UL/Jewish and be friends who became family. To his parents and brother thank you for raising a wonderful servant that always made others feel like they meant something. We will continue to look up to Kelly and doing good in the world as he would have done. Kelly´s impact will last a lifetime for all who knew and loved him

I had the honor of working with Dr McCants at Jewish Hospital. It is hard to find the words...but he was a very special doctor and human being. I learned so much from him as a nurse caring for patients with advanced heart failure. I saw the love he put in to caring for his patients. They saw it too and returned the love to him. He was so respectful of the staff and helped us to grow. His work will continue through all the staff he taught. RIP dear Dr McCants.

Dr. McCants was my cardiologist. In my opinion, he is the G.O.A.T. He treated me at Jewish Hospital and Norton Healthcare. At Jewish, I was extremely sick and others wanted to give up on me. However, Dr. McCants' skill, advocacy and determination got me physically ready for transplant. He told me we were going to prove the naysayers wrong. Of course we did. I had my heart transplant on September 27, 2014 and have been living a great life. He was a brilliant doctor and an incredible man. I was just in his office on November 11th. I always told him that "I trust God and you." I love him dearly. He was like a member of my family. My thoughts are with his daughters, family, his nephew Jeremy, who has taken care of me on multiple ocassions at Norton, loved ones, colleagues, patients and the communities he impacted. We lost a compassionate, respected, well loved, trustworthy, selfless, hardworking, full of swag, confident, innovative, influential, equity fighter and genuine physician and man. God, please be a refuge, strength and very present help in this time for Dr. McCants' family. Thank Dr. McCants for always going so hard in the paint for me. There is no one like and never will be another individual like Kelly C. McCants, M.D. May his legacy live on!
