Kelly Sue Moody, 62, of Crooksville, Ohio died unexpectedly in the early morning hours of Sunday April 28, 2024 at her home. She was born March 28, 1962 in Zanesville, the second daughter of Larry Cook of Crooksville and the late Carol (nee: Brown) Cook. She was a 1980 graduate of Crooksville High School. Kelly was a former employee of Ruff's IGA in Crooksville and Anchor Hocking in Zanesville. In her younger years, Kelly made sure that her husband, Pat took her to every line dancing event or Confederate Railroad Show in the area. She taught her kids at a young age to enjoy the beach from sun up to 3, followed by a dinner trip, every chance they got. In the summer months, you could find her lounging by her pool, drinking an occasional Rum Runner and listening to the Eagles music until she got ‘tired legs’. Kelly would never miss a dance recital of Kiera and Larissa or dancing while listening to Corey’s band. Kelly’s grandchildren were her passion. She spent hours watching her grandkids play every sport from volleyball to football, always their greatest fan with her Pepsi in her hand. She loved watching Carolee and showing her an endless love that only a MawMaw can do. She was an honest friend to many as noted by her many friend selfies found on her large print iPhone. As described by many friends, her energy was fierce. Kelly is survived by her husband of forty years, Patrick Moody; her children and their spouses, Corey (Gina) Moody, Kiera (Roger) Dennis and Larissa (Matt) Smith; her grandchildren, Evan and Ashton Moody, Sophie and Cole Dennis, Mayce Hoover and Carolee Smith; her father, Larry Cook; her sisters, Candi Cook and Kim (Bill) Vickers; niece, Savannah (Logan) Heide and nephew, Levi Vickers; her aunt, Emma Jean Cook; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike (Terri) Moody, Mary Anne Knotek, Molly (Van) Johnson, Joe (Christa) Moody; many cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol (nee: Brown) Cook, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elmer ‘Moe’ and Beverly Moody and brother-in-law, Rodney Moody. Family and friends are invited to gather to pay respects to Kelly and her family 2-4 and 6-8, Friday, May 3, 2024 at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, May 4 at Iliff Congregational Methodist Church, Flint Ridge Rd., Crooksville with Rev. Carolyn Hoskinson as celebrant.
