Kelly was born November 25, 1962, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Henry Lloyd Ethridge and Launa May (Jones) Ethridge. On June 11, 1993, she married her husband and companion of 34 years, Christopher W. Nichols. To this union, a daughter was born, Emily Grace (Nichols) Atkerson of Lee's Summit, MO. The young family made their home in the Oak Grove/Bates City area, where they resided for 30 years.
Kelly was preceded in death by her mother, Launa May (Jones) Ethridge.
Survivors include her husband, Christopher Nichols of Bates City, MO; her daughter, Emily Atkerson and son-in-law, Ryan Atkerson of Lee's Summit, MO; two granddaughters; her father, Henry Lloyd Ethridge of Odessa, MO; brother, Henry Lloyd "Skip" Ethridge and sister-in-law, Kathy Ethridge of Bates City, MO; two nieces; four nephews; many great-nieces and nephews; and stepsister, Michelle Edwards and her husband, Moses of Texas.

Kelly was a beautiful soul, inside and out. Even as a child, she had a beautiful smile which she continued to share throughout her life.

I was in New Life Choir with Kelly. Loved her voice and her personality. This lady was full of faith and strong to the end. Rest well my friend. When my sister died Kelly called me about flowers and what my sisters favorite flowers and colors were. It meant the world to me that with all her responsibilities she had time for my and my family´s sorrows. Thank you my friend for all your Iove and support. Thank God he brought us together for a short while. Will miss you
