Kelsey Abel Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Kearney on Mar. 10, 2026.
Kelsey Lynn Abel, 35, of Littleton, Colorado was born July 25th, 1990. She passed away peacefully with her husband and parents by her side, February 14, 2026, at UCHealth Hospital, in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. February 14 will forever be known to her family and friends as Kelsey's day. Kelsey was surrounded by close family and friends as well as her puppy Trillian in her last days. There was much love, music, comfort, and compassion.

Kelsey was raised in Iowa and Colorado. She loved the mountains and the water. Nothing gave her more pleasure and happiness than connecting with nature. She loved all animals and grew up with many kitties. As an adult, she also added puppies and more cats to her family. Animals were always family to Kelsey. She loved music and enjoyed playing her piano and guitar. She was also an artist and enjoyed painting. Kelsey had a beautiful singing voice and sang in the choir all through school. She enjoyed painting and butterflies as well. Kelsey's favorite holiday was Halloween and she enjoyed dressing up.

Kelsey attended Metropolitan State University of Denver and the University of Kansas at the Overland Park Campus. Kelsey had an accomplished career in retail management. She was the youngest district manager ever with Claire's Boutique. She had a love for flowers and fragrances. Kelsey then followed by working as a store manager with Bath & Body Works. Kelsey was very generous. If you were ever visiting her at home, you were more than welcome to help yourself to any candle, body wash or anything she had from Bath & Body Works.

Kelsey met the love of her life Bryan while living in Kansas City, Missouri. Together, they both had a love for animals and Sporting KC, the major league soccer club. They were married on February 17, 2018, at Golden Gate Canyon State Park in Colorado. Kelsey and Bryan spent the entirety of their eight years of marriage living in Colorado. They purchased a beautiful home in Littleton.

Kelsey is survived by her husband Bryan Abel, her mother Lisa Carnes (James), her father Robert Clark (Mary), brother Drew Clark (Maria), father-in-law Pat Abel, sister-in-law Samantha Abel, nephew Ronan Shultz, uncle Curt Clark, aunt Andrea Wright and grandfather Kenneth Clark. She also leaves behind her beloved cats Commander Shepherd, Elsie (LC), and her sweet puppy Trillian. Kelsey was preceded in death by uncle Jeff Allard, uncle Jamie Allard, grandmother JoAnn Wooldridge, grandmother Nancy Clark, grandfather Garry Allard, and mother-in-law Linda Abel.

Kelsey's family wishes to thank the ICU staff at UCHealth HR and Accent Care Hospice for taking such wonderful care of our beloved wife, daughter and friend.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on March 14th, 2026, at Hidden Valley Funeral Home, in Kearney, Missouri; visitation at 1:00 pm and the service at 2:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Kelsey's honor to your local animal shelter or humane society.
