Kelsey Marable Obituary

Published by Douglass & Zook Funeral and Cremation Services on Dec. 21, 2015.
Kelsey's arrival into this world took place on the 3rd day of January, 1967 in Monrovia, California. In the early part of her life she remained a resident of Monrovia where she was raised by her mother, Bennie Clark and her father, Freddie Roy Bell; a US Army Veteran preceded her in death on January 5, 1970. She began school at Bradoaks Elementary and continued on to Clifton Middle School. Once in high school at Monrovia High, Kelsey participated in a lot of extracurricular activities in school which included track & field and cheerleading. She also participated in many campus clubs including the Associated Student Body where her charismatic nature and popularity earned her a seat on her high school's Homecoming Court and a Prom Queen coronation, she graduated in 1985. When she left Monrovia she took up residency in Azusa where she attended Citrus College and prided herself on raising her eldest daughter, Britany Lynn McDonald and took extra special care of her first born niece, Sabrina Porchia. While in Azusa, Kelsey met the love of her life, Lee Marable, Jr. Kelsey and Lee made their way back to Monrovia where their first born child, Taylor Leanne was conceived in love and the two wed shortly thereafter July 23, 1994. Setting a path of academic excellence for all that would cross her path, Kelsey enrolled at Cal Poly Pomona where she essentially obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. As the pillar of strength that she was, Kelsey proceeded to obtain her Teaching Credential while pregnant with her third baby girl, Jordyn Lee, allowing her to begin her career in Education with Monrovia Unified School District amongst teachers who were once her own. From there, in 2009, she began working for Pomona Unified School District where they embraced her stern but delicate teaching style with open arms. Kelsey enjoyed helping others, and gave selflessly. Her philosophy was to learn and TEACH as much as she could to all that crossed her path. Kelsey was bold and beautiful and she loved to spend time with her family but most of all she LOVED life. In sickness and in health the magnetic energy and her undeniable love for Christ drew many into her light. Determined and unwavering, Kelsey prepared those who loved her heart as she nourished their souls with the word. She SURVIVED cancer for over three years making sure to carry herself with grace, style, elegance and dignity. Her unstoppable strength and unmatchable courage serves as a model to us all. She loved and was loved by so many. The Lord called His angel home on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in the comfort of her home surrounded by love. Kelsey's beloved daddy, Freddie Bell and sister-friend Renee Magee preceded her in passing. In this world she leaves behind her mother, Bennie Clark; her husband, Lee Marable, Jr; her daughters: Britany McDonald, Taylor Marable, and Jordyn Marable; her daughter in love, Sabrina Porchia and her son Kobi Moore; her grandchildren: Mar'lee and Mar'kel Horton; her brother, Keith Clark and sisters Karla and Kristal Clark, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues. A service for Kelsey was held on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at New Life Community Church in Pomona, California.
