kelvin Cornell Terry

1956 - 2024

Kelvin Cornell Terry was born Sept. 19, 1956 to the late Roy Terry, Jr. and Ever Marie McNair in Fernandina Beach, Florida. He confessed Christ and was baptized at an early age under the leadership of the Rev. Willie D. Young at Bethel AME Church in Callahan, Florida. He later joined the Hilliard First Assembly of God where he served on the praise and worship team for many years.
Kelvin was educated in the Nassau County public school system and graduated in 1974 from West Nassau High School. He participated on the track, wrestling and football teams. After high school, he was awarded a football scholarship and attended Bethune-Cookman University.
Kelvin was employed for years by U.S. Gypsum of Jacksonville, Florida, and Florida Sun Printing Company of Hilliard. He also ran his father's janitorial service for many years. He was the life of the party. Kelvin enjoyed cooking, socializing, throwing parties, and spending time with his grandson, Jordan. He also enjoyed sharing his talents, coaching the defensive line at Hilliard High School.
Kelvin was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Ruel Morgan and Daisy White; parents, Roy Terry, Jr. and Ever Simon; sister, Teal Terry; and brother, Patrick Terry.
Kelvin made his transition into eternity on Jan. 24, 2024. Left to cherish memories of a lifetime is the love of his life, Alzada Harrell Terry; grandson, Jordan Harrell; sons, Carlous Hall (Tasha) and Reggie Harrell; grandkids, CJ Hall, Carlton Hall, and Leonard Smith, Jr.; uncles, Earnest White (Jacqueline) and Evans Jones; aunts, Ruby Brown and Maybelle Brown (Cragy); special aunt, Marsha White; brothers, Andrew Simon, Charles Simon (Dorothy), Chriswell Melton, Roy Terry, III, Christopher Terry (Dana), Donald Nobles (Keta), Darryl Terry (Vanessa), Lyndon Terry, and Dewayne Terry (Lisa); sisters, Gloria Simon, Charlette Nelson, Daisy Jones (Nathan), Monique Terry Evans, Carmelita Terry, and Iris J. Terry; and a host of nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins and many, many sorrowing friends.

A Celebration of Kelvin's Life was held on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024 at noon at Hilliard First Assembly of God with Pastor Arlie Johns officiating.
