Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boldt Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Mar. 5, 2025.
Ken Broe, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, in Azle, Texas.
Memorial service 4pm Thursday, March 06 at the Oasis Church, DFW; 801 Collins Street South, Arlington, Texas. A visitation will be held one hour before the service 3pm to 4pm.
Ken was born in Cando, North Dakota to Harlynd and Arlene (Tanglen) Broe on December 02, 1957.
He graduated from Faribault Senior High School in 1976. He went on to Community College in Pipestone, MN for meat cutting. After graduating he worked in Mora and Alexandria, MN. In 1981 he relocated to the Fort Worth, Texas area. He worked in the meat department at several grocery stores in the Fort Worth area, managing the meat department in some of the stores. He made a career change and started training as a chef. He worked in a few hotels around Fort Worth as a chef and after some years decided to return to meat cutting. It was hard to dine out with Ken as he would always say he could have made that dish much better! Ken was always a diligent worker, starting with a paper route when he was 12 years old. He continued to work until he retired in 2021.
Ken was highly creative and spent many hours in his shop doing woodwork and making leather goods. He also spent time antiquing looking for projects he could restore or rebuild. He enjoyed cooking, playing guitar and the harmonica. Ken had a gift for making people feel special, especially his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Barb and Connie, Brother in-law Kevin, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is survived by his wife Shelly, son Eric (Ashley), daughter Steph, stepsons Ramon Jr (Yardira), Kassiel and grandchildren Gunner, Nile, Daliah and Athena, sister Diane and brother in-law Jim.
