Ken Joseph Richards

Ken Joseph Richards, age 67 of Fenton and former longtime Howell resident, passed away Thursday, October 7, after an extended illness at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born September 15, 1954 in Frankfort, Indiana the son of Joseph and Donna (Hollis) Richards. Survived by his wife Karen (Kennedy) whom he married March 26, 1983 in Howell. Father of Kyle (Jenelle), Kory (Angela), Kevin (Kristina) and Kole (Chelsea) Richards. Grandfather of Parker, Karson, Aubrey, Holly, Zoey, Kory, Lexy, Viviana, Emmett, Aubree and Addie. Brother of Beth Shopshire, Joseph and David Richards. Son-in-law of Joanne Kennedy. Preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Robert Kennedy. Ken was a 1972 graduate of Howell High School and a graduate of Central Michigan University with a degree in history. He was employed by the City of Howell Department of Public Works. His passion was coaching kids for over 38 years for Howell High School softball, football and basketball. He was an avid U of M football fan. Most importantly though he valued spending his time with his grand children who will greatly miss their Papa. A visitation will be held Monday October 11, from 2:00 to 7:00 PM at MacDonald's Funeral Home, Howell, with cremation to follow. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Richards family.
