Gerecke, Brian

Hartland, Michigan

His Legacy… Brian Clifford Gerecke, 68, passed away on February 20, 2026. He was born on March 11, 1957, in Howell, Michigan, to Clifford Gerecke and Dorothy (Austin) Gerecke. In his younger years, his family lovingly nicknamed him "Smiley," a reflection of the bright spirit and cheerful nature. A proud graduate of Howell High School's Class of 1976, Brian was known for his generous heart, friendly demeanor, and unwavering willingness to lend a hand to family and friends. He had a deep love for automobiles and was the person everyone turned to with car troubles or when searching for a reliable vehicle. Brian took great pride in keeping his own cars in pristine condition, a true testament to both his passion and meticulous nature. Brian spent the majority of his career in the automotive industry, ultimately retiring from Bob Maxey Ford. His work was more than a profession-it was a reflection of his lifelong enthusiasm for all things automotive.

Beyond his love for cars, Brian had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his beloved dog, Buddy, who brought him great companionship and joy. Brian will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, and the countless ways he showed up for the people who meant the most to him.

His Family… Brian will be missed by his siblings, Brenda Gerecke, David (Bernice) Gerecke; his dog, Buddy; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Dorothy Gerecke; Brothers, Terry, Robert "Bobby" and Scott Gerecke.

His Farewell… Memorial contributions are suggested to Michigan Humane Society. Please leave a message of comfort for Brian's family at 1-877-231-7900, or sign his guestbook at www.borekjennings.com.
