Kenneth W. "Ken" Winter, 77, of Carmi passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi. He was born in Carmi on May 13, 1945 the son of Ben C. and Bernice (Byrne) Winter. Ken graduated from Carmi Township High School in 1963. He was a life long farmer and enjoyed spending his time gardening, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and going to The Coffee Shop. Ken supported his grandchildren in their activities and was a devoted fan of all Carmi White County High School sports. He was faithful member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Carmi.
Ken is survived by his three children, Craig (Kendra) Winter, Ben (Kim) Winter and Rachel (Charles) Hamblin all of Carmi; five grandchildren, Britany (Ben) Bradshaw, Chelsey (Trent) Dickey, Colin (Lydia Griffith) Winter, Paige Winter and Chance Hamblin; three great-grandchildren, Bennett Tomasetti, Piper Tomasetti and Jaxon Bradshaw; three siblings, Omar (Carol) Winter of Dallas, TX, Bonnie Webb of McLeansboro, Ron (Kay) Winter of Carmi; numerous nieces and nephews, and a special friend Ruth Weaver and the gang at The Coffee Shop.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Barbara Killion, Bill Winter, Bob Winter and Harold Winter.
A service to Celebrate the Life of Ken Winter, 77, of Carmi will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Carmi. Friends and family may visit from 3:30 pm until service time at 6:00 pm Wednesday at Emmanuel United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ken's memory to Emmanuel United Methodist Church for the summer lunch program and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of the arrangements.
