Kendall Locke Obituary
Kendall Robert Locke
Bradford, VT - Kendall (Ken) Robert Locke (71) passed away at home on November 7th, 2025 after battling cancer.
He was born in Barnet, VT on January 23rd, 1954 to Harvey Locke III and Shirley (Kendall) Locke. He attended schools in Newbury and Bradford, graduating from Oxbow in 1973. Ken started working at 14 and spent 26 years in management at many grocery stores. He worked another 22 years at DHMC supervising environmental services. Ken always ensured his family was well taken care of.
Ken often said he met the love of his life, Sheila, in 3rd grade and married June 4th, 1977. They raised three children who meant the world to them. Their home and dinner table were always open to friends and family.
Their love grew as they welcomed grandchildren. Ken treasured being Grampa, cooking pancakes, and never missing birthdays, sporting events, family game nights, or buggy rides.
He enjoyed running his bulldozers, excavators, dump trucks, and tractors around home and at camp in Lunenburg, VT. Camp became the center of summers full of friends and family, picking raspberries, and smores over campfires.
Ken loved his pets, with cats and dogs filling his home. Cats were always warming his lap, and his dogs, particularly Lincoln, shadowed his every move.
Ken's love for family, friends, and their gatherings will live on in every camping trip, story around a fire, family game night, and buggy ride. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. He taught us that "It's All About Making Memories" and that the best moments don't require wi-fi, just good company, a loving family, and time together.
Ken was predeceased by his parents, Shirley and Harvey Locke. He is survived by his beloved wife Sheila; son Glen Locke, wife Jennifer (their daughters Dorothy, husband Eugene and daughter Rory Darling, Abby Locke and boyfriend Brendan Hamlett, and McKenna Locke); son Nathan Locke, wife Jessica (daughters Samantha and Britney); and daughter Stacy Pinardi, husband Jared (sons Tanner and Graham). He is also survived by siblings Bruce Locke (husband Clyde Jenne); Harry Locke (husband John Brewer); Karen Locke (husband Russell White).
A celebration of Ken's life will be held on Sunday, November 23rd, at 1pm, at the Bradford Senior Center. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that that you find those moments to spend time with the ones you love - "It's All About Making Memories."
