Remembering A Craftsman: Kenneth Brian Badeau
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Brian Badeau on October 20, 2025 at the age of 55. Brian was born on August 13, 1970 in Greensboro, NC to the parents of Kenneth and Patricia Badeau.
Brian was a dedicated husband, father, son and friend. He was an accomplished athlete and successful wrestler and football player at Smith High School. Brian was either playing a sport or spectating. He spent many hours playing softball with his brother, father and friends or playing golf with his son or best bud, Scott Holland. He especially treasured watching his son, Kobey wrestle or play baseball. Brian possessed a natural gift and manner with animals and his beloved dogs were a constant source of peace, comfort and joy in his life. Brian was friendly, loving, outgoing, quick witted and passionate about politics.
Brian was also a beloved master carpenter, known throughout the Greensboro area for his meticulous craftsmanship. He was the owner of All Decked Out Construction and Badeau Cornhole Boards. While he could build anything, Brian's legacy is often found where people gather, on the countless custom decks he designed and built. Each deck was more than just an outdoor space; it was a carefully crafted foundation for each family. He had an innate understanding of how to blend function with craftmanship, creating outdoor spaces that enhanced every home or business.
Equally legendary, but on a much smaller scale, were Brian's cornhole boards. These boards were custom pieces, usually representing a sports team. He prided himself on the quality and precision of his work.
Brian is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Badeau and brother, Christopher Badeau. Brian is survived by his loving wife, Lisa and son, Kobey, his mother, Patricia Badeau, his sister, Michelle Gordon (Mike) and many nieces and nephews. Brian will be profoundly missed by countless friends, especially his lifelong friend, supporter and cousin, Gavin Summers, along with neighbors, and business clients.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service to celebrate his life on Saturday, November 1 at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 3918 Baylor Street from 4-6 PM in Greensboro, NC. The family requests casual dress or sports attire in his honor.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Brian's honor to the Smith Athletic Department through the CashApp link Ben L Smith Booster Club.
