Kenneth Beckstrom Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by St. John's Family Funeral Home & Crematory on Mar. 3, 2026.
Kenneth Dale Beckstrom, age 74, passed away on March 3, 2026 in St. Augustine, Florida after bravely fighting stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Ken was born to Gladys and Clarence Beckstrom on October 15, 1951 in Arlington, Virginia. He grew up in Northern Virginia.

Ken loved his family deeply and was never happier than when surrounded by those he cherished most. He found joy in music – listening, singing, dancing and playing his guitar whenever he could. Ken was giving, caring, kind and generous; always willing to help and putting others before himself. He was the person everyone turned to for support, advice, or a helping hand with a project at hand. He was always ready to lend his time and steady presence. As the founder of Beckstrom Electric, he built the company from the ground up into a successful, award-winning business, a reflection of his strong work ethic and integrity.

Ken was predeceased by his parents and sister, Jane Kizer. He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Masoka Beckstrom; his children, Mick (Carmen) and Dawn (George); and five grandsons, Dylan, Kyle, Caden, Brendan and Quinn. He is also survived by his sister, Patty Buchman and sister-in-law, Donna (Greg) Glasco and many nieces and nephews. He took great pride in his role as husband, father, grandfather and uncle.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated. There will be a celebration of life in Virginia this Spring where he lived most of his life with his family. There will also be a smaller celebration of life in St. Augustine for the friends he made there over the past 15 years and in retirement.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Community Hospice and Palliative Care https://thefoundationcares.org/, Pancreatic Cancer Action Network https://pancan.org/ or a charity of choice.
