Menke Funeral & Cremation Center - Sun CityIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth “Sonny” William Bellcour, who departed this life on October 11, 2025, at the age of 83, at Abrazo West Campus Hospital in Goodyear, Arizona.
Sonny was born on April 12, 1942, in Kewanee, IL, the son of the late Lewis William Bellcour and Geraldine Sara Hagerty. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Lee Schwigen. He served his country in the United States Army and later in the Air National Guard. He had a 30-year career with Xerox, where he built lasting friendships and was well respected by his peers. Sonny was also a proud, enrolled member of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe, White Earth Nation.
A man of quiet faith, Sonny was a devoted father who dearly loved his family. Both family and friends remember him most for his zest for life. He loved the outdoors and discovered many passions throughout his lifetime. In his early years in Middleburg, PA, he enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling on his 75 acres, and horseback riding with his wife and 4H friends.
After moving to Washington, Sonny took up scuba diving and enjoyed boating and fishing on Puget Sound and Lake Washington. One of his favorite activities was inviting family and friends on boat trips, including to the San Juan Islands. He also enjoyed camping and driving his RV throughout the Great Northwest. In his spare time, he could often be found woodworking in his man cave or dancing on weekends. In his later years, he loved nothing more than playing his guitar, making music, and jamming with friends whenever he could. His enthusiasm for life touched all who knew him.
Sonny is survived by his daughter, DewAnn Bellcour of Scottsdale, AZ; her mother, Patricia Gronberg of Sun City, AZ; his nephew, Kenneth Kuster of Galva, IL; and his half-sister, Deborah Kelly of Neponset, IL; along with other relatives and many friends who will sadly miss him.
