Kenneth Aloysius Blubaugh, age 95, of Sunbury, Ohio, formerly of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2025. He was born on February 1, 1930, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, to the late Hilary and Henrietta (Schlairet) Blubaugh of Danville, Ohio.

After graduating from St. Vincent de Paul High School, Ken joined the United States Air Force. During the Korean War he was stationed at Burtonwood Air Base in England. He returned to Mt. Vernon with his English wife, Shirley, and worked at Schlairet Transfer for many years. He loved cars and worked with vehicles his entire life.

Ken met his second wife, Caroline, while working at the Beighter Armory. They were both enlisted with the Army National Guard, and he retired from the guard in 1992. After retirement, he and Caroline spent many years traveling, visiting family, and enjoying their small farm in Delaware county.

He was very proud of his military service and continued to serve after retirement. He belonged to the Centerburg American Legion and was a very active participant with the Knox Country Joint Veterans Council and Military Honor Guard. He was a loyal fan of Notre Dame, the Browns, and the Cleveland Indians. He also loved animals, mowing, and being outside. Ken was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church in Mount Vernon and St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Sunbury.

He is survived by his daughters, Kerry (Robert) Kotarba, and Vicky Terry; grandchildren, Audra (DJ), Conner (Natalie), Brett (David); and great grandchildren, Alivia, Levi, David, Patrick, and Nathan. He is also survived by his brother Thomas (Judy) and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Ken is preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley (Harding) Blubaugh; second wife, Caroline (Estrada) Blubaugh; a sister, Marjorie Selby; and brother, George Blubaugh.

The family would like to thank the Laurels Norworth and ViaQuest Hospice for their care.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 10:00 am. Calling hours will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church; 303 E High St, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050. Rev. Father James Farnan will officiate.
