I remember the summers of 1993-1995 when Kenny would have the boys from UF over for pool parties. Quite some fun times. Sadly so many of us have gone on over the horizon now.

I am Kenny's cousin and we are act-
ually doubly related-our grand- mothers were sisters and our grand
fathers were brothers. We always
got a big kick out of that! I moved
in with Kenny the day he came home
from his surgery and stayed with him
and helped to take care of him until
his death. I have so many memories-
to numerous to count. Watching the
British Comedies with him-we both
had to get our fix of them every-
week. I cooked more for him than
I have in my whole life and he real-
ly seemed to enjoy it most of the
time. Especially my chicken and rice and my oatmeal cookies. There
are to many memories to write but
I am very thankful to have had him
for a cousin-I felt like he was more a brother really. And I feel
honored he wanted me to have his
little cockatiel Charlie whom he
loved so much. Thanks to all the
friends and relatives who brought
food, visited or called just to
talk. I know how much he appreciated it. I love you Kenny
and miss you so much. So glad we
had out time together.I will always
be your Poobie.

KENNY, I MISS YOU MORE THAN WORDS
CAN SAY. OUR PHONE CONVERSATIONS
WERE A MAINSTAY IN MY LIFE FOR
QUITE A WHILE AND YOU WERE A BIG
HELP IN DECISIONS I CHOSE TO MAKE
THROUGH YOUR ADVICE. I MISS YOU
MORE THAN WORDS WOULD EVER BE ABLE
TO EXPRESS. I WISH I HAD KNOWN. I
TOLD YOU THAT AND THANKFULLY I WAS
ABLE TO DO THAT IN PERSON. I LOOK
AT THE PICTURES OFTEN AND THINK OF
YOU WITH SUCH LOVE AND HAPPINESS
THAT WE WERE ABLE TO SPEND TIME
TOGETHER ONCE MORE. YOU WILL
ALWAYS BE WITH ME. I LOVE YOU. I
LOVE YOUR FAMILY AS WELL FOR ALL
THE KINDNESS THEY SHOWED MY
CHILDREN (WHO WERE, AS WELL, TAKEN
WITH YOU!) AND I HOPE YOU ARE AT
THE SAME PEACE YOU GAVE EVERYONE
THAT EVER HAD THE LUCK TO LOVE
YOU. FOREVER. ME.

Remembering Uncle Kenny
Some poems don't say enough, and
other go to far.
This one just says you're great,
and that's simply what you are.
I'll miss our T.V. marathons,
watching Hunter, Matlock, and
M.A.S.H.
"Are you being served" was really
quite a smash.
As well as many other shows, that
might happen to come on.
While listening to N'sync,
Backstreet Boys, and Elton John.
Shrimp cocktail, oatmeal cookies,
and especially prime rib.
I still think it was funny seeing
you, in the Red Lobster bib.
Although time may pass, the
memories will never go away.
In everyone thoughts, prayers, and
mind is where you will always stay.
You mean so many things to so many
people, son, brother,uncle, friend.
But, the pain of losing you, only
time will mend.
Love Always, your Lisa

He was my cousin and he was my
friend. I had the honor of help
take care of him these last several
months. He loved life and he loved
his friends and class mates, and
talked often about you all. He was
a fighter and did so to the last
moment. To all of us who knew him
and loved him, we will truly miss
him, but we will be Blessed for
having known such a Great and loving
guy. May God's love and Grace be
with you all. Love and Miss you

My husband and I knew Kenny for
about 6 yrs. when my husband was
pastor of his church. He was a
fine young man and a good friend of
our son, Billy. They recently had
a long talk on the 'phone.

I met Kenny in 1995 when I became
his boarder while in graduate school
at UF. He had a great knowledge
about the Gainesville area and
Florida's history partly because his
family has been in N. Central
Florida for so many years. I knew
he'd last through election day, too,
because he was a student of the
president's (especially an expert on
Nixon and Kennedy). He was a friend
to many of the local political
figures in Alachua County as well.
Over time he became more of a friend
than a landlord and I will miss him
greatly. I left Kenny's house in
June after his cousin Cathy Sheehee
had moved in as his illness got
worse. Ever a fighter, Kenny stayed
with us much longer than expected
through sheer will. He loved life
and was a pleasure to be around,
even when he was picky. While I am
happy to be back in Arizona (my home
state), I will always have extremely
happy memories of my five years at
Kenny's. My condolences to Renee,
Butch, Lisa, and other family
members.

I've known Kenny all of my life.
What a wonderful man he truly is.
Always there with kind words of
wisdom. He loved to make me laugh,
as I did for him. Class of 77.
Peace be with you Renee, now and
always. Be strong, and remember we
will all be together again. Take
care of yourself. Love Karen

I never got to really know Kenny
completely until he and I started
working on the same shift 3 years
ago; he could be funny and silly,
and we had great times. He also
knew when to be serious, especially
when it came to our careers. I
will miss him for a long, long time!

Kenny was a true friend and I will
miss him greatly. He was always
willing to help anyone and seemed
to be happy. It's hard to accept
his loss but he will never be
forgotten. My wishes are for the
family who can celebrate his life
even if so short.
