Mr. Kenneth R. Buie, age 53, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at his home in Whiteville, TN. His Memorial Service will be conducted on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Kenneth R. Buie was born in Norfolk, VA, on September 20, 1965 to Kenneth E. and Janet Dixon Buie. He was known to his family as Kenneth Rae. He served his country in the U.S. Army, then attended Johnson Bible College and graduated from Union University with his bachelor’s degree, later he received his MBA in Business Management from Strayer University. Kenneth served as Brownsville 911 Director for 10 years. He was a member of Christ Church in Brownsville, TN. Kenneth loved his family, and he enjoyed spending time reminiscing with them. He was especially fond of animals and shared a love for music. One of the things in life he treasured was going out to eat. Kenneth loved his home life, enjoyed shopping for groceries, cleaning and even cooking at times. He was always there to lend a helping hand when needed.
Kenneth’s mom Janet whom he loved dearly preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Barker Buie and two daughters, Elizabeth Lovelace (Kinion) and Katlin Buie. Kenneth also leaves behind his father Kenneth E. Buie and his step-mother, Marsha Buie; two brothers Tony Morrison (Phyllis), John Buie (Krista); one sister Teresa Grimes (Keith); 3 grandaughters Millie Lovelace, Mary-Neil Lovelace, Raegan Baggett; one brother-in-law James Barker, Sr.; four nephews Thad Thornburg, Wesley Thornburg, Jacob Buie and James Barker, Jr.; three nieces Lauren Poel, (John), Nicole Morrison and Maddie Buie. His family and friends will certainly miss him but are comforted by the fact that he now has a new, perfect body in heaven. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to Christ Church, 2120 Anderson Avenue, Brownsville, TN. 38012.
