Kenneth H. Butler, 78, of Trenton, New Jersey, passed away on March 19, 2025. Services were held Saturday April 5, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Service, 300 North Willow Street, Trenton, NJ.
Kenneth "Kenny" Butler born on August 23, 1946. To the late, Winona Funches in Philadelphia, PA. He attended St. Thomas Moore Catholic High School for boys, where he received his diploma. Kenny as he loved to be called, joined the United States Army in 1968. He served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1971 with a National Defense Service Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, an Expert Badge (M-14 rifle), and a Sharpshooter Badge (.45 caliber pistol).
He married Alice "Ann" Butler, his childhood sweetheart on May 9, 1969. Together they had three daughters. He then moved from Philly to Trenton, NJ. He began a career as a conductor for AMTRAK. Then he became a Unionized construction worker for Asbestos Workers Local 14 Insulators Local 89. He helped build some of the first casinos in Atlantic City, NJ.
Kenny was known to have a heart of gold and ruled with an iron fist. He loved to have family cookouts. On the grill is where you can find him. He had Philly pride and spirit. A true Eagles fan, he was sure to show up in his Eagles' gear to every family event. Every summer it was family beach vacations, backyard cookouts, and seafood on the front porch. He could fish when he wanted, enjoy time with his grandchildren, and do as he pleased. He loved and enjoyed dancing to the Temptations. He liked to take rides while listening to the sounds of Kenny G. He would whistle and tap his fingers on the steering wheel to his favorite jams.
Kenny fought a good battle with cancer, but heaven needed him more. He departed on March 19, 2025. He will join his wonderful wife Alice and his beloved daughter Cassandra Butler. Along with his parents Samuel and Winona Funches, his brother Arthur and his sisters Delores Butler and Toni Funches.
Kenny leaves to cherish his memories of Life. His two daughters Candice and Crystal Butler of Trenton, NJ, Eight grandchildren: Tanaya (Shawn) Scott of Cinnaminson, NJ, Harmony, Kahir, Zanii, Zaire, Prince, Zion Tahzire all of Trenton, NJ. Three great-grandchildren: Yahsan, Legend and Melani. His sisters: Sandra and Ethel Funches, and Veronica (Joe) of Philadelphia, PA and Sterling (Rochelle) Funches of Delaware, Samuel Jr. of Lawnside, NJ, along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Sorry to hear about Kenny's passing!!! I had known him for quite a few years and even when I moved from NJ we kept in touch through FB!! Condolences to his family!!!
