Kenneth Ames Chase

Kenneth Ames Chase, 89, of Akeley, MN passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids.
Kenneth was born September 5, 1934 in Manly, Iowa to Clifford and Gladys (Dobel) Chase. The family farmed in Manly where Kenneth started school in a little country school. The family moved to the Owatonna, MN area then back to Northwood, Iowa. In 1949 the family moved to Akeley where Kenneth graduated from high school in 1952. Kenneth then returned to Iowa and worked on his grandfather's farm near Manly. He met Gertrude Brown in 1955 and they were married at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA on June 5, 1955. That union lasted 54 years and was blessed with 3 children, Christine, Stanley and Kevin. Kenneth entered the US Air Force in 1955 and served 4 years active duty and 2 years reserve.
Kenneth is survived by his children, Christine (Dan) of Aurora, MN, Stanley (Charlene) of Akeley, Kevin (Michelle) of Akeley; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude, and his parents, Clifford and Gladys.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 2:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Akeley, MN. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the Akeley City Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Cease Family Funeral Home of Park Rapids and Nevis, MN.
