Kenneth Ray Collins, known affectionately as Ray by his friends and family, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, in Greenville, SC, at the age of 78. Born on March 16, 1947, in Madison Co., NC, he was the beloved son of the late Thomas Clifford Collins and Sue Olive Revis. Ray's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, faith, and family.

Ray's journey through life was shared with his devoted wife of 59 years, Lenda, who was his partner in every sense of the word. Together, they built a life filled with joy and purpose, raising their three children, Lynn (Kevin) Reynolds, Kenny (Susan) Collins, and Donny (Joy) Collins, who provided them with the cherished grandchildren Nathan Rabb, Scooter Collins, Ciara Collins, Little Donny Collins, and Brittany Collins. They were also blessed with nine great grandchildren. Ray was predeceased by his grandson Corey Rabb, whose memory remained close to his heart. He also leaves behind two loving sisters, Shirley and Betty.

Ray's professional life was marked by his hard work and dedication. He spent many years in the construction industry, working in both the South and North regions of the country. Later Ray also worked many years at the former JP Stevens Textile Mill in Greenville, where he worked as a doffer. He was known for his strong work ethic and attention to detail. Later, he found joy in bartending, where his outgoing personality and quick wit made him a favorite among patrons. Ray's involvement in his community extended to his church, where he was an active and faithful member, embodying the Christian principles he held dear.

An avid outdoorsman, Ray found solace in the beauty of nature. He was happiest when he was fishing, tending to his lawn, or simply sitting outside, taking in the tranquility of his surroundings. His love for the outdoors was only matched by his commitment to his church, where he served with a spirit that inspired all who knew him.

Ray was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His faith-filled life was a beacon of hope and strength to those around him. He approached every day with a spirited zest for life that was infectious. Those who knew Ray will remember him as a man who was always ready to lend a helping hand, share a kind word, or offer a smile.

As we say goodbye to Kenneth Ray Collins, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and love. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him, but his legacy of love and faith will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of his family and friends. Ray's journey on earth has ended, but his spirit will forever be a guiding light for those he leaves behind.

The funeral service will be conducted at First Free Will Baptist Church at 5:00 pm on Wednesday October 1st 2025. Friends may pay their respects one hour prior to the service time at the church.
