Kenneth Cook Obituary
Born June 18, 1951, in Rockford, the son of Donald and Frances (Moore) Cook, Kenneth married Linda S. Austin on June 23, 1978, in Rochelle.
Ken was a loving father to Pam Wiegartz (Tom) Leveroni of Wrentham, Mass., Lori (Cook) Haussmann of Monroe Center and Jason Cook of Woodstock.
He drove a truck from 1988 to 2014 for Plote Construction. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids, Brody, Jack, Reagan, Delaney, Dominic, Owen and Kingston; Ken loved a good Hank Williams Jr. song and sharing a laugh with friends.
Ken is survived by his companion, Penny Verkuilen; and children and grandchildren; as well as his sisters, Darlene Bruder of Kirkland, Diane Lee of Mendota and Vicki Brown of Monroe Center; brother, Don Cook of Rockford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Linda, in 2017; parents; and sister, Judy Bruch.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in his name to Kirkland Fire Department.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4-6 pm Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Olson's Quiram Kirkland Chapel, 309 S. Fifth St., Kirkland, IL 60146. Interment of ashes will follow at Monroe Center Cemetery. A celebration of life will begin at 3 pm Saturday, April 15, at Farmers Inn, 521 Main St., Kirkland.
