Kenneth Lee Cook, Sr., 61, of Hickory, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. Born July 15, 1951 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Wade Alvin Cook and Azalie Lynn Cook. Mr. Cook was retired from Century Furniture and enjoyed playing bass guitar in his band that played oldies music. He is survived by his wife, Julia (Julie) Ann Arney Cook of the home; three daughters: Elizabeth McHone of Burnsville, NC, Tracy Dill of George Hildebran, Stacy Cook of Hickory; three sons: Kenneth Cook, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ, Norman Cook of Maiden, NC, James Cook of Hickory; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2012 in the chapel at Bass-Smith Funeral Home in Hickory with the Rev. Curtis Carroll officiating.
