Kenneth “Wayne” Davis, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 20, 2025. He was born in Forsyth County, NC, to the late Thomas Davis Sr. and Irene Shore Davis on August 13, 1940. Wayne was a graduate of Kernersville High School, class of 1958. He went on to attend Wingate College and NC State University, where he eventually graduated and went on to teach High school math and coach football at the various schools he was employed. Wayne will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Rebecca Flynt, Pat Daivs, Johnny Davis, Jack Davis, Gary Davis, and Reuben “Pug” Thomas Jr; as well as his son, Rodney Davis.
Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Mack-Davis; four children, Curtis Davis (Sally), Jescinda Dority (Adam), Rayvan Davis, and Cara Christiansen (Hal); as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other extended family members.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory with Rev. Francis Smith officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 7:00PM-8:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s’s Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
