Kenneth E. Detman, age 81, of Bedford, Ohio, passed away at home on September 25, 2025. Beloved husband of almost 60 years to Judy Detman (nee Higgins); father to the late Denise Bingaman, the late Karen Detman, Cathy Baune and Michelle Mauk; Papa/Grandpa to Jacob (Sydney) Mauk and Audrey Bingaman; brother to 8 older siblings and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Raised in Cheswick, PA, Ken trained as a medical technician at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights, PA. After moving to Cleveland, he worked for St. Luke’s Hospital for 25 years, during which time he transitioned to IT. He ended his career working in IT at Marymount Hospital in Garfield Heights, Ohio. Ken loved growing vegetables and working in his garden. He was devoted to his family and his church, and he loved to tell ‘dad’ jokes any chance he could. Friends and relatives received at St. John Funeral Home, 923 Broadway Ave., Bedford, Sunday, September 28 from 3-7 pm and Monday, September 29, at Lutheran Church of the Master, 480 Northfield Ave., Bedford from 10-11 am with a service to begin at 11am. Following a short graveside service at Bedford Cemetery, a light meal will be served at Lutheran Church of the Master. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Center, Lutheran Church of the Master or a charitable organization of your choice.
