Kenneth D. Dobson, age 79, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026.

Mr. Dobson was born in Springfield, Missouri a son of the late Clarence Dobson and the late Millie Hicks Dobson. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served his country during the Vietnam War. Mr. Dobson was a devoted Christian and member of Harvest Church in Conway. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying turkey and quail hunting, fishing, and tying his own flies. Mr. Dobson also loved woodworking and playing chess. He was devoted to his family and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Mr. Dobson will also be remembered for his love of flat egg sandwiches and Pepsi.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Dobson was predeceased by two brothers, Donald Dobson and Terry Dobson.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Sarah Gore Dobson of Conway, SC; four children, Scott Dobson (Sabrina) of Hartville, MO, Sherrie Chestnut of Conway, SC, Barry Chestnut (Alisha) of Tampa, FL, and Kevin Dobson of Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, Matthew Cook, Alex Cook (Amber), Aaron Cook, Victoria Chestnut, Cherysh Blackman (Aaron), Breanna Chestnut, Schylar Kieffer (Shane), Sydney Gillett (Sam), Seth Dobson, Shane Dobson (Hannah), Austin Dobson, Ryan Dobson, and Dalton Chestnut; twenty great grandchildren; one brother, Perry Dobson (Jana) of Houston, MO; and one brother-in-law, Randy Gore (Joyce) of Lancaster, SC.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, March 16, 2026 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with Pastor Joshua Sorrows officiating. Committal services, with military honors, will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
