With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our father, Kenneth J. Elsey, who departed this life on November 8, 2025, at the age of 88. Kenneth was born on September 19, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and lived a life defined by integrity, kindness, and devotion to his family.
On August 18, 1961, Kenneth married his sweetheart, Helen Llewellyn. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and enduring commitment. Their marriage was a testament to partnership and devotion, and it remained the cornerstone of Kenneth’s life.
Kenneth’s career with IBM took him to San Jose, California, where he and Helen raised their children, Kim and Tami. He was proud of his work and even prouder of the family he nurtured.
Beyond his professional life, Kenneth was skilled at woodworking and home improvement. He found joy in creating with his hands, whether building furniture, repairing what was broken, or improving the family home. His craftsmanship was both practical and artistic, leaving behind pieces that will be cherished for generations.
Kenneth also dedicated his life to service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His faith was central to who he was, and at one point he served as Bishop of the San Jose 22nd Ward, guiding and supporting his community with compassion and wisdom.
He is survived by his children, Kim and Tami (Brett); four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, with another on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother John, and the love of his life, Helen.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Fountain Green, UT Cemetery.
