Kenneth L. "Kenny" Eson, 84, of Blue Mound, IL passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024 at his home with his family at his side.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Stonington. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday at Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home, Blue Mound. Kenny will be laid to rest in Hall Cemetery, Blue Mound with military honors. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Kenny was born on August 28, 1940 in Divernon Township, IL, the son of Kenneth Sr. and Alva (McPeek) Eson. He married Frances G. Sandoval on November 6, 1959 in San Antonio, TX. Kenny proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1957-1961. He worked at Firestone from 1967 until his retirement on November 1, 2000. Kenny was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 257. He loved to camp, work in the garden and do his canning. He also loved sitting outside the garage in the sun. He loved the feel of the sun. But most important to him was he really loved his family and was very proud of them.
Kenny is survived by his wife: Frances (Fran) Eson of Blue Mound, IL; daughters: Linda (Michael) Krause of Decatur, IL, Judy (Russell) Kitchens of Blue Mound, IL, Mary Frances (Paul) Eson of Lee Summit, MO and Jenny (Tom) Eson of Blue Mound, IL; brothers: Jack (Edith) Eson of Michigan and John Eson of Mississippi; He has 21 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Alva Eson, daughter: Pamela (Eson) McPherson, sisters Barb Robinson and Donna Reed and 5 great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to DMH Hospice Care for all that they did to help Kenny in his last few days.

I used to be Angie Stanick and i am very sorry to hear about Kenny's passing. i just saw him about 2 mon. ago at WM in tville and he looked just great. we talked and he remembered. me. he met my son the youngest. Kenny and I worked at Firestone together and we also camped with his wife and him and many Blue Mound campers. Rest in Peace old friend.
