A service to honor George's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home, Blue Mound. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Big George will be laid to rest at Hall Cemetery.
George was born on June 16, 1954 in Decatur, IL, the son of George A. Meisenhelter II and Patricia L. (Wilson) Meisenhelter Campbell. He was a farmer and former owner of G&M Disposal. He was a member of the Blue Mound Lion's Club. George enjoyed fishing in Wisconsin, attending his grandchildren's sporting events and frequenting his local watering holes.
George is survived by his sons: George Meisenhelter IV and his wife Annette of Blue Mound, IL and Gregg Meisenhelter and his wife Dana of Decatur, IL; sisters: Sue Howland of Macon, IL, Jane Griffin and her husband Steve of Wills Point, TX, Cathy Baba and her husband Tom of Spring Grove, IL; grandchildren: Garrett Meisenhelter and his wife Rylie, Grant Meisenhelter, Graham Meisenhelter, Ally Meisenhelter, Julia Meisenhelter and Alyssa Meisenhelter; great grandchild: Grayson Meisenhelter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Penny Pistorius.
