Lorraine M. Meisenhelter, 89, passed away on Sunday October 15, 2017 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Richard E. Meisenhelter. They were married for 63 years.
Lorraine was born on May 16, 1928 in York, daughter of the late Helen S. Sprenkle. She and her husband lived in California for two years. Upon returning to York she worked at J.C. Penney Furniture Department and also a real estate agent at Yorktown Reality. She was a volunteer with the Red Cross at the York Hospital and a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church Dallastown. Lorraine and her daughter had a business at Central Market for 18 years dealing in silver jewelry and ceramics.
The viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Roger Mentzer officiating. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.
Lorraine is survived by a son, Lon Meisenhelter and wife, Diane of Florida; daughter, LouAnn Smith of Dallastown; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Gene Sprenkle. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Sprenkle; sister, Carmen Fishel; and a son-in-law, Randy Smith.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem U.M. Church, 109 E. Main St. Dallastown PA 17313.
