Kenneth Fox Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 7, 2025.
Kenneth "Kenny" Edward Fox, 74, passed away on November 4, 2025, in Port Angeles, Washington, after a courageous 14-month battle with pancreatic cancer. His strength and determination throughout his illness were nothing short of remarkable-he amazed doctors and nurses alike with his energy, positivity, and unwavering will to live.

Born on September 3, 1951, in Liberty, New York, Ken grew up with a strong sense of duty and adventure that would shape the course of his life. After graduating from Union Springs High School in 1969, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Serving until 1971 as part of an A1-Recon team in Vietnam, Ken saw combat and carried immense pride in his service. He often said he wanted to go out like a Marine-and he did. "Semper Fi!"

Following his military service, Ken pursued higher education at Saint Martin's College, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and History in 1976. His academic pursuits reflected both his intellectual curiosity and his commitment to public service.

In 1977, Ken joined the Port Angeles Police Department-a career that would span over two decades until his retirement in 1998. He loved every aspect of the job: the thrill, the challenges, and most importantly, the camaraderie. The friendships he forged during those years remained deeply important to him throughout his life. Though too numerous to recount fully here, Ken's career was filled with stories of dedication and bravery that left a lasting impact on those who worked alongside him.

Ken also found joy beyond the badge. He had a passion for gardening and took great pride in nurturing life from soil to bloom. He enjoyed making wine-a craft that combined patience with creativity-and found freedom riding motorcycles on open roads. These hobbies reflected his zest for life and appreciation for both quiet moments and bold adventures.

Ken's greatest pride was his family. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Maureen O. Rowland of Bellingham, Washington; and John S. Fox of Port Angeles, Washington. His legacy continues through his four grandchildren: Aidan W. Rowland, Merrick S. Rowland, Ava C. Fox, and Addison Fox.

He is also survived by two brothers: John W. Fox of Albion, New York; and Rev. Douglas E. Fox of Columbia, Maryland; as well as two sisters: Janet Siulc of Lakeview, New York; and Dorothy Doherty of Medford, Massachusetts.

Ken lived life fully-on his own terms-with courage rooted in conviction and a heart open to friendship and family alike.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him-and may we all carry forward a bit of his spirit: brave, loyal, and full of life. Semper Fi! A Celebration of Life will be held on December 14, 2025, from 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM at Elks Lodge 131 E 1st. In lieu of flowers please make donations to PanCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network).org

From boyhood to adulthood, Ken filled our lives with strength, grace, and humor. Ken´s wonderful smile, quick wit, and gentle words came equally during our best or our difficult moments. Ken ended every message with a reminder to "enjoy every second of life" and "sending love and blessings to you and family". Today we send love and blessings and your zest for life to your entire circle of family and friends. Love you cousin!

It is with great sadness to not see and talk to a loved every so often in the flesh but our unselfish love for them allow us to let them "go ahead" to rest when we know they are weary! You did great brother... you deserve to rest... and one day when we all wake up we will be in the loving arms of Jesus! RIP Mr. Fox!

Will miss Uncle Ken tremendously. He faced his battle with cancer with an incredible spirit which was inspiring to me. Can´t thank Maureen and John enough for all their support for him the past year. Love, Elsa

We've been honored to count Ken as a good friend, since we met years ago through our mutual love of motorcycling. Will definitely miss our visits to his "Choke" farm, and our meetups at different locations throughout WA, OR, and BC over the years. Sincere condolences to Ken's family & friends, from here in Agassiz, BC...Ken was a good man, and a dear friend
