Kenneth David "Biscuit" Futrell, age 74, of Somerville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, at Methodist Hospice Residence.
Known affectionately as “Biscuit,” David was a beloved figure in his community—cherished for his kindness, humor, and unwavering friendship. He spent 37 years as a dedicated truck driver, navigating the roads with pride and purpose. In addition to his career, David was an ordained minister whose faith and compassion touched many lives.
A passionate gardener, David found joy in nurturing both plants and people. He was a best friend to all who knew him, always ready with a helping hand and a warm smile.
David is survived by his loving wife, Donna Cates Futrell; daughter, Sherron Futrell; son, Kerry David Futrell; stepson, Dylan High; stepdaughter, Amanda Benner (Mark); sisters, Rita and Orrin Amsden, and Linda Hendon; and one step-grandchild, Zach Benner. He also leaves behind his cherished fur babies—Miss Priss, Luna Blu, and Charlie Brown—who brought him endless comfort and companionship.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Bessie Futrell; sister, Thelma Futrell; and brother, Bobby Futrell.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Peebles Funeral Home West Chapel in Oakland. Visitation took place prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the same location. Interment followed at Eads Cemetery in Eads, Tennessee.
David’s legacy of love, faith, and friendship will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
