Kenneth Alson Goodell, 83, of Duluth, MN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 7, 2025, in St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by his beloved wife Marilyn and his children Richard and Karen. He was born in Duluth on April 18, 1942, to Kenneth W. and Virginia Goodell. After graduating from Duluth Central High School in 1960, Ken attended vocational school and graduated as a Master Baker. It was at a local bakery where Ken met Marilyn Kubiske. They were married on August 7, 1965, in Duluth, MN. In 1969 he went to work for the Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) where he worked for 33 years, first as a driver and later as a mechanic. He retired from the DTA in 2001. Ken was also a member of the Minnesota Air National Guard, proudly serving his country for 22 years, 17 years of which were as an Aircraft Ground Equipment (AGE) mechanic. After his retirement from the DTA and Air Guards, he went on to work for several more years as an Independent Contractor Inspector for city buses. Ken was active in his community. From 1976 to 1985 he was a Scout Master with Troop #7. He was a member of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, and a former member of the Duluth VFW. Ken enjoyed many hobbies and spending time in his garage. He was a true “jack of all trades” and could fix almost anything. He was an excellent woodworker, 3D model builder, and he enjoyed time spent doing puzzles with Marilyn.
