Kenneth Grey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hall Funeral Homes & Cremation Services - Thomaston from Jan. 16 to Jan. 19, 2026.
Kenneth Linwood Grey, 84, of Tenants Harbor, Maine passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, surrounded by his wife, daughters, and stepson.
Kenneth was born in Plymouth, New Hampshire, to his mother Eva (Steele) Grey and father Karl Grey. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in the RA AMEDS division. Kenneth had a passion for learning and attended Ivy League institutions.
In his younger years, Kenneth had a deep love for travel and proudly flew around the world on three separate occasions. During one of his study-related travels, he met his first wife, Khanh, with whom he shared two daughters, Jasmine and Ashley. During the Vietnam War, Kenneth brought Khanh's family safely to New York, an act that reflected his courage, bravery, and compassion.
Kenneth spent the majority of his career working in finance on Wall Street. After being struck by a drunk driver in the 1990s, he devoted his time to his family and to the causes he cared deeply about. These included researching his family's genealogy, fighting to preserve protected lands from development, reducing pollution, calling out corruption, and volunteering to teach English as a Second Language at the Rutherford Library.
Kenneth later met his loving wife, Lorna, and together they began a new chapter in her hometown of Tenants Harbor, Maine. They shared many interests, including genealogy, politics, learning about the British Royal Family, hosting visits from family and friends, and simply enjoying time together. Kenneth loved Lorna beyond words and was deeply grateful to have found her and built a life together.
Kenneth was an exceptionally intelligent and gifted man who had a lifelong love of learning languages. He was fluent in Mandarin, German, French, Spanish, and several others. He had an endearing presence and connected easily with friends, family, and strangers alike. He was a devoted husband, a selfless father to his two daughters, and a proud member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife of 16 years, Lorna Grey; his daughters, Jasmine Zarifa Grey and Ashley Alden Grey; his stepson, Loren Blair; Loren's wife, Jennifer Blair; and their three children.
Kenneth was surrounded by love in his final moments, in the presence of his wife, daughters, the pastor of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Camden, and the staff and chaplain of Pen Bay Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held at Hall Funeral Home, 78 Main Street, Thomaston, Maine, on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the spring.
As Kenneth often said when signing off a phone call, "Goodbye for now." "God be with you till we meet again."
