AIKEN, SC - Mr. Kenneth Lewis "Ken" Griffin, 78, beloved husband of Jo Ann Griffin, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026
Ken was born to the late Lewis and Ruby Lee Keen Griffin. After graduating from high school, Ken served proudly in the United States Air Force. He obtained the rank of Sergeant while serving in Vietnam. After his military service, he obtained an Associate's Degree and worked as an E&I Technician at the Savannah River Site, where his contributions were valued by many.
He was a devoted husband to Jo Ann Griffin, with whom he shared a loving marriage for 46 years. Ken cherished his family deeply. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann; his children, Sheila (Roy) Chasteen of Arnoldsville, GA, Nathan Long of Houston, TX, Andrew Long of Castle Rock, CO, and Theresa Griffin of Bogart, GA; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind two sisters, Dorothy Ferguson and Darlene (Donnie) Skinner, both from Augusta, GA.
Ken had many hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He loved woodworking and taking care of his lawn, and was a passionate coin collector. His travels with Jo Ann took them around the world and across all 50 states. A lover of cooking, he often joked about getting in the way whenever others prepared meals.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Ruby Lee Keen Griffin, and his brother, Bobby Gene Griffin.
Graveside funeral services will be held in Westover Memorial Park, 2601 Wheeler Rd., Augusta, GA 30904 at 12:00 PM on Monday, January 19th with the Rev. Butch Blackwell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.
Ken will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, whose spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
